Wow-another
successful day! Thank you again to all of you wonderful volunteers. So many of
you volunteered for a second time, filled in at the last minute, and took time
out of your very busy day to be there. I really enjoyed meeting those of
whom I hadn't met before. I think the kids loved spending time with you and
really liked getting a book of their very own. Thank you so much for
making Operation Early Reading possible!

As an
elementary teacher for 36 years, I understand the importance of Early Literacy
and helping children gain confidence in their reading skills. It is very
exciting to be part of an organization that values Literacy Development.
Operation
Early Reading is truly a gift to these young children and not only because they
receive a book to take home, but more importantly the way the Assistance League
members make them feel unique and important.

As a former teacher, it was exciting to
be a part of this meaningful program. The children seemed delighted with a book
they could call their own. The activities to follow gave members a chance to
visit with the children and learn more about their reactions to the story.
Operation Early Reading program is very well organized.
My daughter Diana Brann
volunteered. Her first graders loved having a book with more then one
story. They also felt that they had made some new friends.
